GRANOR PASSI processes approximately 280 000 tons of fruit per annum
Citrus accounts for more than 75% of the annual production with apples contributing around 20%. The company’s main products include concentrated citrus juices, concentrated apple and pear juices, fruit pulps, formulated fruit juice concentrates and fruit preparations for yoghurts.
The formulated fruit juice concentrates are produced to customer’s specifications and products can be offered frozen, aseptically packed or chemically preserved. A variety of byproducts are available including citrus cells, cold pressed essential oils and citrus essence oils.
Classification of Fruit Juices and Drinks
Members of SAFJA produce and market a wide range of fruit based beverages ranging from 100% fruit juice or fruit juice blends to drinks. Strict regulations govern the classification of the various products in the South African market.

Product Overview
At present the company is owned by fruit suppliers who by agreement supply all juice-grade fruit to GRANOR PASSI only. Fruit suppliers are selected carefully and GLOBALGAP certification or Registered Export Packhouse status are minimum requirements. All fruit supplied to GRANOR PASSI is sampled and tested for compliance with specifications prior to processing. Approved subcontractors collect fruit at packhouses and are continually monitored to ensure fruit arrives at the processing facility with minimum delay.

Bulk packaged concentrates
Produced in a variety of flavours, fruit percentages and mixing ratios, our bulk packaged concentrates come in 25 litre and 50 litre Blopak drums as well as a 40 litre bag in a box.
Categories
100% Unsweetened Fruit Juice
A fruit beverage, containing only fruit concentrate or pulp, with permitted additives, with no added sugar in any form.
Fruit Drink
A fruit beverage, containing at least 6% of the named fruit juice at standard strength.
Yoghurt Syrup & Fruit Preparations
Fruit preparations for yoghurt (50% fruit content) and syrups for flavoured or drinking yoghurt.
Fruit Nectar
A fruit beverage, with or without pulp, obtained by mixing fruit juice, water and permitted sweeteners, resulting in a product containing a percentage fruit juice at standard strength, as prescribed in the relevant regulations. A nectar is normally preserved and in concentrated form it can be stored ambient.
Fruit Flavoured Dairy Blend
A fruit beverage, containing part dairy and >6% fruit juice.
