Granor Passi Langkloof (Pty) Ltd, a fruit processor in South Africa, based in Louterwater in the Langkloof, seeks to employ a Millwright to efficiently perform Millwright duties and plant maintenance activities. The incumbent will report to the Factory Manager.
Position: Millwright
Purpose:
To efficiently perform the Millwright duties in the whole plant. Carry out planned maintenance daily and will be required to perform maintains tasks on production equipment, facilities and services.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned maintenance daily and required to perform maintenance tasks on production machines and facility services in the event of a breakdown.
- Conduct safety inspections on process equipment and machinery
- Recommend the need to replace/repair equipment or spares
- Assist in planning and implementation of project work
- Train apprentices in fitting and electrical functions.
- Ensure that all work is done in a safe manner and all equipment used complies with safety standards
- Monitor and improve line outputs/ optimisation of production lines; to assist maintenance and production departments with new ideas while constantly striving for better outputs in production
- Control and manage critical spares.
- Attending to all mechanical, electrical and electronic faults on equipment.
- Maintenance on all electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Calibrating of all field instrumentation.
- Actively market, promote and carry out Granor Passi Corporate Branding to both internal and external environment.
- Assist with workplace cleanliness.
- Working or operating in accordance with safe work procedures and use the Personal Protective Clothing and Equipment (PPE) as provided.
- Maintain a clean,neat and orderly work place.
- Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety.
- Do any other legal and reasonable duties as and where instructed by the Factory Manager.
Requirements:
- Qualified Millwright (Red seal)
- N4 Certificate
- Must be permanent South African Citizen
- Minimum 3 years in maintenance and manufacturing environment in a qualified position
- Minimum 3 years in operation and maintenance of plant machines and services
- Technical aptitude – be able to find and repair breakdowns.
- Ability to follow clear instructions and to implement a planned maintenance procedure.
- Must be systematic, neat, methodical and pay attention to detail.
- Must be able to work under extreme pressure.
- Ability to work without supervision.
- Must be client driven.
- Must be able to lead and apply proper discipline.
- Ability to action tasks and then document as per allocated job cards.
- Knowledge of FSSC 22000, SABS ISO9001 and HACCP will be advantageous.
- Perform stand-by /callout duties and work overtime.
- Must be willing to relocate to the area.
- Must have sound knowledge in the workings of pumps, conveyor systems, gearboxes, drives, alignment, and electronic components.
- No criminal record
- Drivers licence.
- Own transport.
- Good communication skills.
